Come and See

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) RCIA is the process whereby adults prepare to become full members of the Roman Catholic Church.  The process begins with a period of inquiry about Catholicism without obligation or commitment.  Those who choose to do so then enter into a period of further instruction. During this time, you’ll study and discuss the Catholic experience with RCIA team members and other adults already committed to the Catholic way of life. You will experience rituals of commitment culminating with the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, which customarily take place during the Easter Vigil Mass.   Potential candidates are:

• non-baptized persons in the Christian tradition.
• baptized Christians who have not been fully initiated into the Catholic community through the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.
• baptized Catholics who have not completed the initiation process.
• those married to a Catholic and attending Mass but unsure what the next step is to becoming Catholic.

Christian Initiation of Children is the process wherein children who are of the age of reason (7 years old) or older, and who have not been baptized, prepare to celebrate the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.  For additional information, contact the Families of Faith Director, Lisa Bald, at 603-436-4555, X120, or [email protected].

Catholics Come Home is an invitation to enter into a process of dialogue and discernment regarding your spiritual journey and past or present experiences in the Catholic Church. We meet you where you are in your quest for a spiritual home.  The “Catholics Come Home” process is respectful of each person’s turning-point experience.  We invite you to tell the stories of times when your faith was shaken, hurts experienced or needs not met. In a spirit of welcoming embrace, we listen with open hearts to those who desire to be understood, accepted, and sustained in growth by the risen Lord Jesus through his presence in word, sacrament, and community.

We begin with informal “Let’s Talk Nights” hosted by our pastor.  No obligation! Just an invitation to hear a bit more and an opportunity to ask questions and question answers.  Then, if you wish to further explore coming home, you are welcome to come to any or all of our “Enrichment Nights.”  The bulletin and website will provide you with times and dates of upcoming sessions.

We invite you to think and pray about family and friends who might welcome an opportunity to return to the Catholic Church, the home of their spiritual heritage, and encourage them to contact us.

NAZARETH MINISTRY is an ongoing program for young men discerning the priesthood. Participation can involve spiritual direction, individually and with participation in reflection groups with others discerning.  Periodic meals, reading and reflection opportunities, and gathering for prayer are also included. Our pastor directs this ministry. All are invited, whether of the parish or not, to contact him for more information.
