We will take a more active role in mission work, beginning by reinforcing our ongoing support of Sister Annie and her efforts with Damian House in Ecuador.
Damian House is a residential and outpatient clinic for hundreds of patients suffering from Hansen’s disease (leprosy), that provides quality medical care seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. It can use all of the assistance it can get.
We have been supporting Sister Annie and her Foundation with regular medical and support missions, but will seek ways to strengthen these efforts further.
CC+MM will continue cultivating efforts to enlist warm-hearted volunteers, collect needed supplies and raise vital funds,as we embrace MISSION work as one of our tenets.
To help us grow in our faith we will expand and provide a rich diversity of enrichment offerings. Fr. Gary will be instituting a series of special monthly worship services for men. Taking place on the first Thursdays in coming months at our Immaculate Conception Church, they will meld together…
+ Meaningful Reflection
+ Enlightening Discussion
+ Confession
+ Prayer
CC+MM will offer retreats and other opportunities, including daily / weekly readings, to nurture our souls and to grow our faith. With WORSHIP being one of our tenets, Faith & Prayer will be a standard of practice.
We will continue to provide welcoming fellowship opportunities where we, as “men of faith”, can gather for comradeship and converse freely, openly and honestly without reservation.
The popular CC+MM monthly potluck dinners will certainly continue. They are delicious evening meals with light-hearted conversation enjoyed without pretense.
Going forward, we intend to create additional opportunities for us to build and foster personal relationships with each other.
FELLOWSHIP, as a tenet of CC+MM, means you will always be welcome and always amongst friends.
We will focus on specific service projects that will enhance our Parish family life; first of which will be the creation of Outdoor Stations of the Cross on the beautiful and serene grounds of St. Catherine’s.
Fr. Gary has a wonderful vision for this; under his guidance, CC+MM will coordinate with additional volunteers to plan, layout and construct the Stations and pathways. Efforts will progress through the coming winter months with hopes of celebrating a groundbreaking in the spring of 2018.
Holding SERVICE as a tenet of CC+MM, we will also continue assisting at various parish functions, such as family cookouts and special events, helping with our talents and muscles in any way possible.
