Members of the parish can contribute toward the life and ministry of the parish in a diversity of ways. Time, talent, and treasure are three areas that sum up the diversity of support. All are invited to look through this website or to contact a staff member or the pastor to discuss needs and opportunities to invest your time and talent to build up the parish community.
Internet commerce and electronic banking have become accepted as a normal way of conducting transactions for many people. There are now electronic giving tools available for parishes; ours is called Online Giving by Our Sunday Visitor. You now have the option to manage your contributions online. So, what are the advantages to both you and the parish by using Online Giving?
To get started, visit Online Giving . If you have any questions, please contact Kate Gordon at 603-436-4555, x12 or [email protected].
Our parish offering envelope system is handled by Our Sunday Visitor. This is a bi-monthly service; parishioners receive envelopes every two months. Because of an early company deadline for adding names, roughly the 22nd of every odd-numbered month, the period between adding your name to the mailing list and automatically receiving your first regular envelope mailing will be more than a month. However, to promptly begin tracking your contributions for tax purposes, we will supply you with a “starter set” until your regular mailings begin. If you have any questions regarding envelopes, or to enroll, please contact Mary Kay Linscott at 603-436-4555, x110 or [email protected]. Contributors who use envelopes are the bedrock of our stable, financial support.
If you regularly spend the winter elsewhere, please let us know as early as possible your approximate dates of departure and return. Depending on the date you notify us and the length of your absence, we may be able to have envelopes sent to your winter address should you like us to. (We would certainly like to!) But if this is not practicable, we would suspend envelope delivery until your return.
As of 2007, parishioners who itemize deductions for income tax purposes must have bank records or receipts from the parish in order to deduct contributions on their tax return. To provide the required receipt, parishioners are encouraged to use contribution envelopes or the Online Giving program. We can, to a limited extent, track contributions made by personal check without the use of an envelope. Parishioners placing cash in the weekly offering basket will not be able to legally deduct the contribution for tax purposes. If you have any questions, please contact Kate Gordon at 603-436-4555, x112 or [email protected].
The 20/20 Raffle is one of the few ongoing fundraisers sponsored by the parish. All are invited to buy one or more $20 tickets which are good for 20 weeks in what we call a “series.” There are two series per year, the first from February to June, and the second from September to January. In February 2023, we commenced Series 60 (yes, that’s about 30 years of 20/20 raffles). Our goal is to sell 200 tickets per series.
Typically, each week for 19 weeks, we draw two numbers which win $25 each. We generally do not start drawing numbers until we are near our 200-ticket goal. If it takes a bit more time to reach the 200-ticket goal, initial drawings may be delayed, but we make up for that delay by postponing the drawing for the first weeks, then making up for the skipped weeks. No matter when we start, every ticket holder will have a weekly opportunity to win a $25 prize for 19 weeks. On the 20th week, a final series drawing is held with prizes of $500, $300, two at $100, and two at $50. Winners are listed in the bulletin. All proceeds outside the awarded prizes benefit the parish.
Tickets are usually sold after Masses at the beginning of the series and are always available at the Parish Office, 845 Woodbury Ave, during normal business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). To confirm availability, call 436-0344, X113.
