St. Pope John Paul II used to underscore often the connection between reception of Holy Communion at Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. He reminded us that, as we try to realize WHO it is we receive, those few minutes of union with Him are not enough. We want to linger, speak of our joys, fears, hopes, and pains. We want to praise Him more fully and recognize Him more clearly in the many “ordinary ways” He breaks into our lives each day. Adoration allows us to do that! If, in faith, we can come before what appears as bread in the monstrance, and, with the eyes of faith, see the Lord our God, we can then go out and begin to see Him more often in all the ordinariness of day in and day out. He went on to say that, as we adore, we are led to want to become one with Him more often, not simply gaze upon Him. So, frequent adoration leads us to a deeper desire to receive Him more often and more reverently. I am so happy to see adoration growing in our parish! I know it’s the source behind so many of our blessings!
I encourage you to get into a weekly Wednesday habit – a few one-on-one minutes with Him as the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for you every Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church. It is wonderful to see so many of all ages dropping in all through the day each Wednesday for some one-on-one time with Jesus during these hours of Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament!

Prayer Cenacle of the Marian Movement of Priests
“Cenacle” is a word for the upper room where Jesus’ apostles gathered together in prayer with his Mother Mary, and the Holy Spirit powerfully descended upon them. It was during this original Pentecost that the Church was born. Two thousand years later, Our Lady renews the call to gather together with her in cenacles of prayer for an outpouring of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. A Prayer Cenacle consists basically of the following:
Join us every Tuesday, September through June, from 2:00 – 2:45 PM at Immaculate Conception Church for this wonderful opportunity to pray for the needs of our church and world, and to enrich your own prayer life.
The word Rosary means “Crown of Roses.” Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary, they are giving her a beautiful rose, and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and therefore the most important one. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer, because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary, in fact, we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow, and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It’s a simple prayer, humble – so much like Mary. It’s a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary, we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore, it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks, She always receives; Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer, made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer, you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and many evils. It can seem a repetitive prayer, but instead it is like two sweethearts who many times say to one another the words: “I love you…”
